Welcoming 2016, Luma is excited to host the opportunity to meet Luma artist, Jules Frazier. Jules Frazier is an award-winning fine art and advertising photographer. Her fine art prints have been collected internationally by commercial and private collectors as well as featured in magazines and advertising campaigns. A graduate of Brooks Institute of Photography, Jules currently splits her time between Seattle and her ranch in eastern Washington. While going to horse shows across the west with her dad, she started taking pictures at around age 7. Commissioned to create works for Luma Condominiums opening in June 2016, Jules will showcase her Frontier collection for this event.

Join us Sunday December 6th from 4 – 6 pm for a Cocktail Crawl you don’t want to miss! Famed bartender Dustin Haarstad of Canon will lead a behind-the-scenes tour of Capitol Hill hotspots with cocktail demonstrations, paired with light bites.
We’ll be kicking off the tour at the Luma Sales Center with a drink demo of “The Last Word” – a gin-based prohibition-era cocktail favorite drink of Seattleites, is known for its good bite.

The tour will continue to the exclusive new Cloud Room’s private member’s only lounge with assorted meats and cheeses. Jay Kuehner of the Cloud Room will give a historical approach to the second cocktail demonstration.
And we’ll finish at Caribbean-inspired Rumba, the Northwest’s premiere rum bar, for a tasty rum flight presented by Jim Romdall, paired with delicious tropical bites.
This event will surely epitomize the unique neighborhood you could call home at Luma. A place where you have your peace amongst the tree-lined streets and classic architecture of First Hill. And then leave your well-behaved side at home and walk a quick two blocks to the Pike/Pine.

In October, LUMA kicked off the Pike/Pine Cocktail series where guests can get tips form the pros on how to make the perfect libation mix. Seattle’s favorite bartender, Ryan Lobe prepared a delicious Philadelphia Fish House Punch that was enjoyed by all. Ryan will be back in November to give an in depth lesson on perfecting a classic drink, the Old Fashioned. Ryan will bring this craft cocktail into 2016 by also demonstrating how to serve up an Old Fashioned with a ‘twist’. Get ready for hints of apple and seasonal spices that will wow your holiday guests. Everyone is welcome and RSVPs are strongly encouraged to secure your spot for this November 17th event.

Join us Thursday November 12th as we continue to participate in a favorite neighborhood event, the Capitol Hill Art Walk. We are proud to showcase Luma artist and Capitol Hill photographer Brent Smith. Known for his whimsical black and white photography, Brent will be showing some of his work commissioned for installation in Luma’s elevator lobby areas. With a vintage look inspired by renowned photographer Rodney Smith, Brent hopes to put some smiles on viewers’ faces with this collection. We hope to see you!
