Come experience Luma and meet local Capitol Hill bartenders as they showcase how to prepare the hottest fall and winter cocktails.
Tues, October 13, 6 – 8 pm:
Philadelphia Fish House Punch
Seattle’s favorite Bartender Ryan Lobe will demonstrate how to make this historic rum based drink. Attendees will walk away with insights and Ryan’s custom recipe to create this famed punch for entertaining guests of their own.
Philadelphia Fish House Punch was first concocted in 1732 at Philadelphia’s fishing club, the State in Schuylkill, also known as the “Fish House.” America’s first President, George Washington, was also known to be fond of a drink or two, and sometimes more.
Drink presentations will kick off at 6:15 & 7:15 and light apps will be available.
Thursday Oct 8th: 5 – 8 pm
October’s Featured artist: Jan Slawson
Jan Slawson’s paintings are in the versatile acrylic medium painted on canvas, combining a fusion of form, color, line and rhythm inspired initially by the artists of the late 19th and early 20th centuries who broke out of the mold of realism into impressionism and abstract painting. Her paintings reflect a vivid palette that blends color and line to create a composition that is independent from realism, but evokes emotion with the inspiration from unique forms, sculpture, nature and mood.

Thanks to all those that came out for the September Art Walk with Luma Artist, Celeste Cooning! In case you missed it, a bit about Celeste:
A pervading interest in pattern and ornament led me to explore cut paper. The medium facilitates a particular response to material, shape, light, and space. The hand-cut nature is an important aspect of the work. The mindfulness of making permits breath amidst the rigors of my daily life. Ideally, the work exudes this same breath when experienced.
More information on Celeste’s work can be found on her website, CelesteCooning.com.
